Our Story

Papa Bear Spice Company sprung from my love for chili and a quest to create an awesome chili recipe. Never satisfied with the store brand mixes, it was my own blending and creating that cinched winning a few chili contests. Word spread to friends and extended family about the secret mix adding magic to chili. The demand grew for a ‘must have’ bottle in the spice cabinet. Our test recipes span the gamut from smoking meats, grilling chicken, veggies, beef to the basics: omelets, mac ‘n cheese and more.

Our special blends of herbs and spices are carefully crafted to enhance the natural flavors of your food, ensuring a mouthwatering experience with every bite. When you see the Papa Bear logo you know it's a symbol to our commitment to quality.

Papa Bear Spice Company’s mission is simple: 

Our seasonings are the centerpiece of making it all about food, fun, and family. 

Growing up in a primarily Italian and French-Canadian family, we would often be found in the kitchen, cooking everything from everyday staple meals to general experimentation of cuisine. The kitchen was a focal point to our clan. It was the place we could all gather, from the youngest to the oldest, to discuss almost anything, often leading to debate, and filled with laughter, but always doing it as a family!

From my earliest memories, food has always represented fun, family, love, and pleasure. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that when it came time to starting my own family, these same joys in my life would continue to be a strong influence in how we lived and raised our son. My wife (Mama Bear) grew up in a similar fashion in an Irish family, so our cultures blended, food choices grew, and we always tried to continue our family traditions while also creating our own. My son is now grown and my wife has since passed but my love for food is as strong as ever.
